Ryusa netsuke has been carved from fossil mammoth tusk, stained with Yashabushu, burning needle, Japanese Urushi lacquers Kuro-nakanuri and Seshime, shell inlaid eye. 2 inches across. 2021

The plot of this netsuke was inspired by Katsushika Hokusai's engraving "The Dream of the Fisherman's Wife". Ryusa netsuke is hollow inside, the relief continues smoothly on the inner surface. Ojimi is made in the shape of a tridakna shell and has an erotic context in Japanese art.
